Our Story
Started in Vancouver back in 2018, we've always been the weird ones in the room. While everyone else was chasing minimalist white boxes, we fell in love with the drama of Gothic arches and the honesty of raw materials.
There's something about buildings that embrace their darker side—not in a gloomy way, but in how they play with light and shadow, how they make you feel something when you walk past them. That's what got us hooked.
We're not trying to recreate medieval castles here. It's more about taking those bold, dramatic elements and making them work for how people actually live and work today. Think pointed arches meeting floor-to-ceiling windows, or heavy timber beams paired with smart home tech.
Design Philosophy
We believe buildings should have personality, not just function.
Embrace the Shadows
Light's great and all, but shadows? That's where the magic happens. We design spaces that understand how darkness defines light, creating depth and mood that flat, bright spaces just can't match.
Materials That Mean Something
We're obsessed with textures—rough stone, weathered steel, reclaimed wood. Every material tells a story, and we're not about hiding that behind drywall. If it's gonna be there, it better earn its place.
Function Meets Drama
Yeah, your building needs to work properly—good insulation, proper drainage, all that boring stuff. But why can't it also make people stop and stare? We make sure both boxes get checked.
Why Contemporary Gothic?
Look, we get it—Gothic architecture isn't everyone's first thought when planning a modern building. But here's the thing: those old cathedrals and monasteries knew something about creating spaces that move people.
The vertical lines, the dramatic heights, the way they framed views—it wasn't just about religion. It was about creating an experience. And that's exactly what good architecture should do today.
We strip away the unnecessary ornament but keep the emotional impact. The result? Buildings that feel grounded yet aspirational, modern but with soul.
The Team
A bunch of design nerds who can't stop sketching on napkins.
Elena Moreau
Principal Architect
Got her start restoring heritage buildings in Montreal. Now she's mixing those old-world techniques with stuff that makes engineers nervous in the best way.
Marcus Chen
Design Director
Spent five years in Tokyo working on commercial projects. Came back with a thing for clean lines and an unhealthy obsession with how buildings age over time.
Priya Sharma
Sustainability Consultant
Makes sure we're not just making pretty buildings but smart ones too. She's the reason our projects actually perform as well as they look.
Daniel Kovac
Visualization Lead
Turns our sketches into renderings that make clients actually understand what we're talking about. Also our go-to guy for obscure material sourcing.
Working With Us
We're not gonna lie—our process isn't always smooth sailing. Good design takes time, lots of coffee, and the occasional heated debate about roof angles.
But here's what you can count on: we'll listen to what you actually need (not just what you think you're supposed to want), we'll push back when something won't work, and we'll obsess over every detail until it's right.
Most of our clients come back for round two. Some say it's Stockholm syndrome, but we like to think we just make buildings worth talking about.
Let's Talk About Your ProjectOur Vancouver Roots
Being based in Vancouver isn't just about the location—it's about understanding West Coast living. The rain, the mountains, the way light changes through the seasons.
We design for this climate, this lifestyle. That means buildings that handle moisture properly (seriously, so important here), that bring the outside in even when it's pouring, and that respect the natural landscape without trying to compete with it.
Plus, the city's got this great mix of heritage buildings and new construction. It's taught us that old and new don't have to fight—they can actually make each other better.
